Beautiful, Sunny Saturday!

We are finally starting to get some normal sunny weather here! I am really looking forward to summer time.

Today we took another stroll the our neighborhood and got to hear a couple different street performers. We heard a Cello quintet and a Brass ensemble. It was so fun! The Brass ensemble played an arrangement of Pachelbel's Cannon in D which always reminds me of Erin's wedding. :)

We found a donut shop!!! I didn't have a chance to take a picture of the ones I bought, but they were amazing!

Church and a Movie

We found a church near us that is English speaking. It, like many of the churches in Europe, is beautiful and we have been enjoying our Sunday mornings there.

Later, we saw our first movie in the theater near us. It is the closest movie theater we have ever lived by. It is on our street and two shops down from our apartment. Talk about convenience! The only small issue is that they usually only show each major Hollywood movie in English once a week. Today we went to see The Jungle Book. It was awesome!

Exploration of Old Town Wiesbaden

It was a beautiful, sunny day in Wiesabden today...which does not happen often during spring time in Germany. We took advantage of the weather and went out for further exploration. The buildings here are just extraordinary and we love them!

Shops and Eats!

Kochbrunnen (translates to Boil Fountain). This is a famous Hot Spring that spills out water at 150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Taking a Stroll Through the Neighborhood

We went out and explored more of our surrounding area. Came across another beautiful church. This is the Ringkirche and it is such an amazing  piece of architecture!

We ended our walk with a visit to the park and got to see the flowers blooming. Not exactly Texas Bluebonnets, but it is still pretty. 

Vacation to the Black Forest

On Tuesday, Logan and I took a small vacation to the Black Forest. We stayed in a small town called Bad Herrenalb. Our hotel was surrounded by the forest and it was a nice mini trip to see. It was also a benefit to have a dog friendly hotel!

We went to a local restaurant that is known for its traditional spätzle dishes. This is a an egg noodle dish, 

which is very popular in the Bavarian region. This particular restaurant offered different types of spätzle plates...sauces, meat and seasonings. It was YUMMY!

I guess they have mini golf in the park during the Summer season. That did not stop Bishop from urinating on Hole #9.

 As we were leaving we got a glimpse of some the old stones in the Black Forest. Beautiful!
